Date: 22/23 September 2013
Residential Weekends are something we all look forward to every year. 2013 , held in Rydges Hotel in Eagle Hawk was especially successful, coinciding beautifully with Floriade in Canberra's Commonwealth Park. There were some lovely presentations, member interaction and sharing, and workshops held over the weekend.
Presentations included 'Hope and Growth: Our Experiences of Grief' & "Creative Expressions in Hope, Growth, Grief and Loss" by Linda Espie, "House of Emotion" by Berbadette Arena, and "Don't Look Twice" by Pat Brown.
Workshops included "Creative Art, Locating Your Grief" (Linda Espie) , "Music – Expressing and Exploring Grief" (Angela Sciberras), "Creative Thinking Approaches to Living with Grief" (Linda Campbell) and "Connecting with Nature as a Spiritual Connection in Grief" (Bernadette Arena).
The candle lighting ceremony, facilitated by TCF ACT was a beautiful addition. Angela played wonderful harp music to add to the atmosphere.
The AGM was held at the end of the afternoon's activities and our new council was formed.
A delicious dinner in the evening was an opportunity for more social interaction. A raffle and silent auction raised more than $1000. Thanks to all who donated and participated.
We thank the team from City Met, Julie Jennings, Lyn Ward and Gabrielle Brydon, who organised the residential weekend this year.
